ITC and Wallonia-Brussels universities: 25 years of cooperation05/12/2019

This December 5, Dr OM Romny, Director of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, and members of the ITC management have been welcoming representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Belgium, representatives of NGO’s (Louvain Cooperation and Eclosio), and the AWEX. The parties had decided to convene in order to take stock of the latest achievements of their partnership which has been supported over the years by the ARES, as well as other sources of economic development. The global evaluation of the collaboration has been overall favorable and future plans have been outlined in the frame of a constructive dialogue. It has been commonly understood that future actions should involve new efforts meant to turn the ITC into not just a center of academic excellence, but also into a generator of tech start-ups with significant added value for the Cambodian economy. From this perspective, AWEX’s interest is aligned with ITC’s in nurturing the future reliable, Wallonia-trained Cambodian engineers and high-level technicians for the purpose of promoting joint projects between companies from Wallonia and Cambodia.
